I spoke to Stephanie many times before her daughters One Year Session. She was very excited about the pictures and shared all the fun details she wanted to include in them. Playing off of her daughters name, Marielle, Stephanie had the great idea of giving her a “Merry had a little lamb” themed birthday party. Once she share her ideas and color scheme, Pink and Teal, we focused the shoot around that! I bought some fun scrapbook paper from Michaels (my go to spot, I am there literally once a week) to create a pennant banner. I baked an oversized cupcake, as usual for these sessions, and frosted it pink with little teal dots.
Before we got into the smash cake part and got all messy, we headed across the street for some family shots and were able to use all the fun props Stephanie bought. She purchased an adorable vintage high chair in teal from an antique store in Ocean Beach, she bought a small fake cupcake she found on Etsy and we cannot forget the fun balloons she ordered from Amazon and Party City. Marielle was dressed in the cutest romper, also purchased off Etsy. When Stephanie couldn’t find a headband to match her adorable romper, she made her own! Stephanie also bought two different tutus for our smash cake session, one from Fancy Pants boutique in Oceanside and the other off etsy! Stephanie didn’t miss a beat and all these details played together perfectly for Mairriels shoot
