This blog is a fresh start.
For years, I shared every session i shot, over 450 blog posts dating back to 2007, documenting weddings, families, newborns, and more. But over time, my style has evolved, and I want this space to reflect what my work looks and feels like now. Many older posts also lost images due to outdated hosting platforms like Flickr, so instead of holding onto something incomplete, I chose to start clean.
Will I post often? We’ll see.
Will I bring back some old posts for nostalgia? Maybe 🤍
About Me | Los Angeles Maternity, Newborn and Family Photographer
Hi, I’m Bethann, a Los Angeles-based maternity, newborn, and family photographer with 18 years of experience.
Photography has always been part of me. I even went to school to become a teacher and started the credential program, but I stopped halfway when I realized it wasn’t quite the path for me. Everything shifted when a high school friend asked me to shoot for her local magazine, my first paying photography job. From there, my business grew naturally, from weddings to babies to growing families.
I’m also a mom to two boys, so I truly understand how fast it all goes.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me with my family, usually outside, at the beach, hiking, or living at a sports field. Our house is loud, full of energy, and almost always has music playing.

I originally started my business in San Diego and moved to Los Angeles about 10 years ago, not knowing what would come next. I remember crying, thinking my business might be over.
Today, I have a light-filled Manhattan Beach photography studio, where I photograph maternity, newborn, family, and children’s portraits.
After years of shooting in clients’ homes and even my garage, I created a space that feels calm, simple, and timeless, with a special focus on motherhood and real connection.

I love photographing maternity, newborn, and family sessions across Los Angeles and the South Bay. My sessions can take place in my Manhattan Beach studio, at the beach, in open fields, or wherever feels meaningful for your family.
My style is soft, natural, and timeless. I focus on connection, emotion, and personality rather than trends or overly posed shots. Some of my favorite sessions are maternity, newborn, and family portraits that capture real moments, the laughter, the cuddles, and the little quirks that make your family unique.
One of my personal favorites is Mugshots. These are simple black-and-white portraits full of personality. Sassy, silly, sweet, shy, and maybe a little spicy too. Families love repeating them over the years to see how their children grow and change while keeping that same timeless style.
What to Expect from Your Session
Sessions with me are relaxed, playful, and never too serious. I meet your kids exactly where they are, whether that means being silly, making them laugh, or just letting them be themselves. Those real moments are the ones you’ll want to remember.
